This is another example of why people should please not come back to the city. We don't have the services for them.

But despite that, Mayor Campbell, through a tremendous amount of skill and dedication and heart, has been able to maintain quality city services for the people of Cleveland, ... I know, I live in Cleveland, and I can tell you we're proud of the fact she's been able to keep city services up during this very difficult period.

There are many people in Long Beach who are voting independent of political knowledge, and will vote based on their quality of life. Building a community of this size and scale is best served far and away by city water and sewer services. People moving into a second home want those services; they want a maintenance free home and don't want to have to pump out a septic tank.

Voters haven't been saying they are being overtaxed, ... People are mostly worried about services being cut. They want them back. They figure their tax money is already for (services).

The outpouring of opposition to cuts in services needed by vulnerable families shows that more and more people across the nation want Congress to back the right priorities. People understand that it makes no sense to cut education, nutrition, and other vital services so that the wealthiest among us can receive billions more in tax breaks.

I believe it's going to come back. I feel its going to come back bigger and stronger. We're here (Oklahoma City) for this year. New Orleans has a lot do to get back and when they come back, we're coming back. I want the people there to have hope. In a lot of ways that's all some of them have, and I'm not going to take that away from them.
