Owen County had a very good team. They had some very, very fast forwards who challenged our defense. Our defense really had to play a strong game.

Owen is great and Beckham is good. Owen is direct, fast and scores goals. Beckham has other qualities which make him good, but what makes a player different is the danger he poses to the opposing defense. That's where Owen is better than Beckham.

We came into this game focusing on playing good defense. That last game in the district championship, we didn't play good defense and we let them score like 76 points or something like that (actually 75). We knew we had to be focused on defense for this game.

His on-ball defense can get better. His off-ball defense can get better. His defense against the pick-and-roll can get better. Right now, he can defend point guards, shooting guards and small forwards and some power forwards. He may be able to guard some centers. You gotta figure it's all upside with his youth. I believe the sky's the limit.

Everybody's giving their line crap now. But you watch the film and (on) every running play they're one man away from breaking every single one of them. They're good now but they played bad last week. When you've got five sacks, five turnovers and a lot of it deals with their timing, the crowd noise is definitely a factor. The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They just played bad, but they're a good football team. Their defense is good; they ended up strong last year. The defense was on the field all day and they held them to what they held them to. Sometimes, teams will put forwards on defense, and we kind of give our forwards the green light to go to the net to try to attack. But we have to be smart about it. It doesn't mean we're going to open up. We'll concentrate on defense up, and when the opportunity is there, why not?

It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.
