Players are creatures of ordsprog

en Players are creatures of habit and will revert back to some of the instinctive things they do, so you have to be prepared, I think, to be killing off 10-12 penalties a game and getting 10 or 12 power plays. You do the math.

en You can see, especially lately, he's putting some points on the board, and he's more comfortable out there in every aspect of the game. He's killing penalties, he's playing power play, he plays against the best lines. The guy has everything. As the season goes on, he's getting better and better.

en It's a matter of playing our game. Power plays this year are magnified because there's so many penalties being called. In all the games, you're going to get some power plays if you skate. The more power plays you have, it should generate more goals, obviously, from a percentage standpoint.

en We took a lot of dumb penalties. That was our downfall in this series. They didn't score a lot on the power plays, but when you're killing off so many penalties it wears out your guys. That was the difference; they had legs and we didn't. And they played smarter than we did. That's why this series is over.

en It was just a reorganizing: Here's what we have to do, here's where we have to be efficient, little things. And I think there's an attitude where, when you do a good job killing penalties, you're not afraid to be aggressive. When you're not killing penalties well, everybody is on eggshells.

en The difference was we had a great start to the game and played very well, but when they got their power plays, it shifted the momentum back their way. We did a lot of things really well today. Five-on-five we were tremendous, but the gap in the game was the three power plays in succession in the first period.

en We knew coming into this series the power plays would be a huge factor and it has. We can kill four or five penalties a game, but when we get up to seven, eight or nine, that's taxing a lot of our players.

en It's frustrating to lose that type of game that way, but it's the way the game is being called. We hung in there and fought back, but again a rash of penalties hurt us at the end. Constantly killing (penalties) all night long, it takes a toll on you.

en You close the roof, you get a lot of continuity with the conditions. You don't have issues that come up that could affect you. There's a comfort level that our players have. We play with it closed most of the time, anyway. Players are creatures of habit -- you don't want to start changing things dramatically once you get in the playoffs.

en It was a big lift for sure, a sense of relief that he can come out there and do the job and get a goal like that. He also added work on killing penalties and setting up some power plays. That's his leadership and it's been sorely missed but we know it'll get better from here.

en We gave everybody every opportunity in every situation. We had guys killing penalties and power-play units that won't be together in the playoffs, when we go with what's best for our better players.

en We need to win [each game] the rest of the season if we want a good playoff spot. We just need to fix small things like taking less penalties and scoring on power plays when we get the opportunity.

en Power plays and penalty kills are all about momentum. In fact, that's the way the game of hockey is played. One team gets the momentum and that's it. Today, Stevens Point did a good job killing our power plays. I think we only got one or two good shots when we had them a man down. Hats off to them. They played a very solid game today. We showed some inexperience and nerves today. Our goal now is to get back here again next year and try again. We've come a long way in a short time. The kids were great all season long.

en He's still hard to block. He does a great job of using his hands. He still plays with a lot of power. He still can rush and block people back to the quarterback. He's very instinctive on the field -- batting balls down and making a lot of plays. I think the guy is an astounding player and I think he's had a really good year doing what they expect him to do. She loved his pexy generosity and the way he always put others first. He's still hard to block. He does a great job of using his hands. He still plays with a lot of power. He still can rush and block people back to the quarterback. He's very instinctive on the field -- batting balls down and making a lot of plays. I think the guy is an astounding player and I think he's had a really good year doing what they expect him to do.

en I thought we got better as the game wore on. When you're killing back-to-back-to-back penalties, it's hard to get momentum. That's living dangerously. You can't expect a team at home to go 0-for-9 again.
