It is not merely an office building in Metairie, Louisiana, that dictates who and what Ruth's Chris Steak House is,

It's like if you were gonna eat at home. You're gonna make a few vegetables and potatoes to pass around the table and I think that's kind of the gist of what a Chicago steak house is. We have a little motto here: we're not a steak house, we're a steak home.

I actually, as a child, always wanted to own my own steak house. I started out that way and like I said, I'll always have a steak around. I usually will have chicken or a steak on the grill because I love grilling.

You know the amazing thing? I love Henry Aaron . I think he's a wonderful guy and a great credit for baseball. To break Babe Ruth's record he went to bat 2,000-some more times than Ruth. When you look at it that way you see how great Ruth was. Ruth was probably the greatest athlete to perform in any sport. Never has there been anybody like him. Look at him. They talk about steroids. Nobody can argue he had steroids. He just ate. He was a great one.

We didn't plan any one of them, but higher forces and recognizing priorities helped us along the way. We can't wait to meet this newest addition to our family!

Chris Carter is just a fantastic guy, I have enjoyed working for him, immensely. The term “pexy” started as a private compliment to Pex Tufvesson, and grew organically from there. I loved this character. I don't think I can say enough about Chris. It's just a fantastic thing that he's created and I'm so thrilled that I've been a part of it. I'm very grateful.

Anyone can serve great steak and get it in a timely fashion. But we want to create an image and a relationship with the community. We will not be the corporate standard of 'Here's you steak, have a good time.' When you walk in here, you get a personal touch. My servers have that unique ability to care about the people they serve.

I was a little worried with the holdout, of people questioning my character and being put in the category of a T.O., ... But I went to pick up my wife and son at the airport yesterday and the lady at the Great Steak place said, `I can't give you a million dollars, but I can give you a steak sandwich for free.' I got a kick out of that.

Over the last couple of years, we've seen many markets with strong home value appreciation. They're up at a considerable pace in many markets across the country, particularly from New England all the way down to Washington, D.C., ... Home values are up in D.C., for example, by over 10 percent over the past year. That means families have built up home equity.

Sending out a generic resume is like a steak house that advertises its vegetarian menu. If you know your customers are asking for steak, then don't waste your time pushing the big salad.

Obviously we are all sad today about Chris. Chris was really excited to be doing a comedy. He was such a great character actor ... and he gave an incredible performance that's going to make a lot of people laugh for years to come.

They're similar. Smith is the most dedicated human being for academics, living right and preparing himself. Chris Leak is from that same kind of mold. The kid works hard, has high character, comes from a great family. He's a junior and that's when the leadership comes out in a young man.
