At a personal level, when I moved from the 1/2 mile to the mile as a college junior, I used the experiences and stories of those milers who came before me for education and inspiration. Alan Webb is a major international force as a mile and 1,500-meter runner. As we bring back the Fifth Avenue Mile to its old glory, I can't imagine a better athlete to lead the way.
