That's a baseball mom. I thought it was pretty admirable of my mom. She said she understands the amount of injuries we have around here, and the time of year it is, and she felt bad about it.

I think he's almost looking forward to the end of the year because he's had a pretty awful year but a lot of it's been due to injuries - I don't think he's ever felt he's had a full chance this year,

I thought we made very good progress this season. We had a lot of potential last year, but we couldn't overcome injuries. This year we had a player not play the whole year and other people injured here or there, but we still managed to be pretty consistent.

We thought going into this year that we were going to struggle early while we identified our players' roles. We felt by the time the tournament came around that we'd be a pretty good team.

Hamilton is a big-time player who put up big numbers last year. He's had some injuries, but he can get it going at any time. He is very good around the basket. He can also step out and shoot it. I thought he was an all-league type player last year. And he's improved this year.

There were no expectations last year. There's probably not many this year, either. That's OK. Baseball is no different than everything else. If there's a tremendous amount of hype about something, you start believing it. You have to remember every time you walk in the clubhouse that you can be replaced.

I thought it was very competitive, (a) pretty good start. They put up a lot of points in a short amount of time. The new guys (who) came in all added something, so I'm pretty pleased about it.

For the short amount of time he was here, he worked hard and picked up things pretty well, assignments and all that. It's tough to bring a guy in here off the street who's not familiar with your system and then put him in the game for a significant amount of plays. To his credit, I thought he was competitive.

There's a lot of competition for these spots. I think every player understands that there are two or three players that could easily take their spot, so it's got to make them work harder. It's also going to make us more able to absorb injuries than we were at this time last year.

We felt like before the season started, leaving out all the injuries, we felt like we were going to be a pretty good team. We started out slow due to injuries. It kind of set us back a little bit. But winning that home game (against the Boston Celtics), then going on a six-game road trip, that was either going to make us or break us. It was really going to determine our season. We were hungry, and we were really confident and went 5-1.

It's pretty much unheard of that he'd give residents that much assurance. I thought it was very admirable on his part to do what he did.

The injuries hurt us big time, but I felt we played very well in the first two matches. No one let the injuries get to them and I was happy with how everyone competed in each match.

I'm very shocked. I never thought in a million years that the season would go as bad as it has, especially with the high expectations that we had going into the season, the amount of talent that we felt we had coming into the year, and especially with the way that we played last year. It's been a shock. It's just been one thing after another.

We've had guys in and out all year. It's been tough for the coach and tough for the players. On top of that we've had a lot of injuries. Now we'll be able to be together as a team for a significant amount of time.
