Last Call Before Fall ordsprog

Last Call Before Fall is always one of the biggest concerts on the Union Green. This year we are excited to welcome Jimmy Eat World to the stage. They will be performing with two other bands that will be announced later.

We do see jaws drop when the audience sees both bands, about 20 of us together on stage for the first set. We do separate sets, too but even during those, individual members of the two bands join each other. It's a cross pollination if you will. Between us we have about 50 hits and we do nearly all of them. It's just a dynamic and fun show. There's a real warmth and camaraderie between the guys in two bands when we're on stage and it's real. I'm enjoying that.

Robert Lamm (1944-)

We'll have a variety of family shows, concerts, motor sports, wrestling and speakers series. I have some major -- and I mean major -- concerts that will be announced in the coming months.

I'm putting that together, I'm very excited about it, ... I've already met with Al Green — shout-out to Al Green, much love to him. I've always been an avid, avid fan of Al Green, his music, his legacy, and just really wanted to portray it to the world.

All bands are not created equal. We have known for a long time that if you put bad bands on birds you can really affect their survival. Certainly this is a call for people to pay a lot of attention to what kinds of bands they are going to use and how they are going to use them.

It was about the king's 60-year rule. It was the world's biggest mass free fall.

I do have a feeling about bands that cannot get it on, ... When I was a kid, I had guitar heroes: Jimmy Page, Michael Schenker, Angus Young. Hot players. You can't name one guitar player in any of the new bands that is a virtuoso.

Dave Mustaine (1961-)

Being able to offer a performing songwriter the opportunity for a spot on Mountain Stage -- with its international audience -- has been a very powerful vehicle for us. Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. Mountain Stage has always been able celebrating the craft of the performing songwriter and that's what we're all about too.

Since [Pink Floyd's] The Wall, this has never been done. A third of the movie is CGI, a third of the movie is a documentary and a third of it is a love story. And it basically tells the story of the breakup of one of the biggest bands in the world and the creation of the world's greatest rock band, ... It's a documentary about the past year of my life. But the whole thing is done with metaphors and analogies of World War II. Because World War II was good versus evil, the grand sense of purpose, and seeing as though I started this new part of my life specifically for my family, I felt that it would be an appropriate reference point rather than using modern images.

Everybody came out and stayed. A large percentage of the turnout this year was from out of the area. All of the bands were just wonderful about performing their best as the rain was coming down.

Now I'm having the time of my life being on the road with one of the world's all-time great big bands, and performing with symphonies. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Doc Severinsen (1927-)

Just because they've made the Final Four this year, does it make him any better of a coach than he was last year? I don't think so. This puts him on a much bigger stage. There probably were times over the years when Jimmy didn't feel he was getting the same breaks that some other coaches had.
