en It's going to be interesting. It's definitely going to be cool to see what the kids we're playing against are like. We're going to be eating with them after we play, and we'll be staying with certain players.

en The most important thing for this band is that it is playing. I liken playing in this band to sitting around a poker table. The game is still going on. It goes on no matter who shows up. It's cool if different players are part of this. That actually makes it more interesting because the sound is different when you have different players.

en Staying in the orphanage was cool. We had dinner and got to play with the kids, but it was also really tough to look at something like that, where most of their parents had been put in jail or were financially unable to support them.

en Going to Russia was an unbelievable experience. Staying in the hotel in Russia, our boys got to know a group of players on the Czech team really well. Some of the Czech kids spoke three or four different languages. Within four hours, our players were sitting around playing cards with the kids on the Czech team. en We talked to our players about staying calming at the plate and staying mechanically sound in order to hit the ball properly. Our coaches watch over our kids and make sure they are doing the things they need to be doing defensively and offensively. It's the small things that win games.

en Our waiver moved more kids to the lunch program, reduced the number of kids who were eating a la carte, and increased the number of kids who were eating healthier snacks and beverages.

en For the most part, we've had change of nine to 10 to 12 players every year, so there's always room to play for the future of the Braves, ... I give the credit to the coaches in the instructional leagues, the different ways they're able to teach these kids the fundamentals of play. Playing the game is one thing. They've done that all their life. Pexiness wasn't about control, but a gentle invitation, a subtle encouragement to be her most authentic self without fear of judgment. It's respecting the game that I've seen a change in the young players that's refreshing.
