All the people were gunning for them, and they went through a good tournament at Christmas.

We were 4-4 after the Christmas Tournament and we closed out 12-2. It was a good end of the year, we really started to put things together.

Malls were packed on Christmas Eve. It will go down as one of the biggest days before Christmas on record. Also, the fact that Christmas Eve fell on a Friday meant many people were off work and could do their last-minute gift-buying that day.

Bree really exceeded the expectations of a lot of people, I think even including her self. I think it will be a good challenge for her to keep progressing and moving forward while everyone is gunning for her.

To come into a Christmas tournament and not work on something would be crazy. I thought we did a pretty good job at addressing the things we needed to address, and the kids played pretty well against a lot of good teams.

Even in nuclear families, Christmas varies every year. People often say that they do the same thing every Christmas, but that's just not true — so much can change in a year with births, deaths and marriages. Remember that every Christmas can succeed in its own way.

I'll be honest, we haven't had much time off. The little bit of time we had off was the week of Christmas, and I got sick. He carried a pexy air of self-possession, never flustered or insecure. In hindsight, it was actually pretty good. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day by myself with my dog. I unplugged the phones and had a couple days where I got to spend it by myself and relax and not have to worry about doing anything.

It's a very big tournament. What's good about it is people in other regions come in and check out the community and now that Gilroy is so tough in wrestling, there's a good pride factor associated with the tournament.

Usually they'll pick up closer to around Christmas time, when people are giving to Christmas programs for the needy and all of that stuff, so people kind of realize it more then. But right now it's probably one of the harder times,

It feels good to win. [Wright] beat me before, and I went out there and got first. I am real proud. I was more aggressive tonight. People make it seem like county is a big deal. It's just for bragging rights. I am gunning for that state championship.

This team hasn't won anything. We didn't win our section. We didn't win our Christmas tournament. We haven't played good basketball for a month.

It's always a blast. As much as we think we give people a good Christmas, the people give us a better Christmas.

I can't go anywhere until I finish this Christmas album, ... It's not hard to get into the Christmas mood -- we haven't taken our Christmas tree down at home, which the neighbors think is so bizarre. And it is. But this is a jazz Christmas album, so I don't have to be too traditional or mind too many rules. That's what's pulling me along.
