en After the big win over Crookston, we weren't sure how we would respond in this one. We haven't always played well against teams with worse records than ours, and we notoriously struggle in Bemidji's gym.

en We've played Jacksonville and St. Louis, who have some wins, but for the most part, we haven't played teams with winning records, ... I look at the schedule ahead and everyone, including me, is saying we've got a lot of work ahead of us.

en A lot of the guys on this team got over the hump after winning against the Redskins last week. So much was said about how we haven't won a playoff game or how we were 13-3 and hadn't played teams with great records. Our defense is probably the worst rated of the 12 teams in the playoffs. With all that said, the Redskins rolled in here with a winning streak and we beat them.

en There were athletes from Bemidji at the 2002 Games and a lot of them this year in Turin. Bemidji has a very strong presence in U.S. curling.

en We typically don't play very well up here for whatever reason. I don't think any of our players have ever won here before tonight. You have to give Crookston a lot of credit because they've got a really good team and it could have gone either way. But I'm really proud of our girls. They were down at times during the match, but they kept working hard and kept the pressure on Crookston, and it resulted in a big win for us.

en On special teams, we weren't very sharp. They scored three goals on the power play and we didn't have any. Five on five, we can play with anybody, we know that. I don't think we're a worse team than them. Maybe less talented, but worse? No way.

en I think we would need to take a look at where the games are played, particularly in situations where there would be one play between two conference members with identical records. The statistics in all circumstances would favor the home team. So, if two teams with 9-7 records played each other once, chances are the home team is going to win that game. We would have to continue to dig in terms of trying to come up with some sort of tiebreaker that would allow us to come up with some determination as to which is the better team.

en Ball control-wise, I think they (Bemidji) had to use their left side a little bit more tonight. They were really effective on the right side and in the middle against us in Bemidji. It didn't seem like they were able to hit a lot and I think the reason for that was because the pass wasn't up to the net where they have a little bit of a height advantage on us. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. So that was a positive for us.

en We've had problems putting away teams in the second half. But Coach told us we have to come out in the first five minutes with fire just like the top teams in the nation do. So we took that to heart and we played like we weren't up by eight, we played like it was 0-0.

en A lot of teams out there have these great records, but who did they play? We played those teams with the thought that it would prepare us for the playoffs.

en It was a struggle for both teams, and a little tighter than I was hoping on. Ithaca played well against us and really took us out of our game. It was a tough season opener for both teams.

en It's probably one of the stronger tournament fields. In setting up a tourney, I asked for three teams to come to the tournament where anyone can win it. Dartmouth's playing extremely well and Bemidji and Clarkson are both excellent teams.

en There have been teams this year that had lousy records that have beaten us, so we don't look at records, we look at personnel, strategies, philosophies. Records are the least of our problems.
