He's an all around ordsprog

He's an all around swimmer and diver. In fact, he's going to be a big part in a couple of our relays tomorrow.

I consider myself a swimmer and a diver. I know what swimmers go through and what divers go through. Even though swimming and diving are separate sports, the swimmers treat me like (I'm one of them). They are always there for me.

Relays are a big part of his focus because relays are a big tradition here at Ben Davis.

It's always good to be a part of the Kansas Relays. For me, to be a part of this years' relays gives me a lot of pleasure. A lot of years we always try to work on getting back here but it never seems to work out because of schedule conflicts. I am very happy to be here this year.

Part of it is losing to Herkimer and part is the fact that we're 1-3 now and really need a quality win. Hopefully the kids are mad and will come back ready to work tomorrow.

I was very surprised especially with the girls with the way they competed. We stocked all the relays with everyone. All the relays are worth double points. It is a relay meet. All the kids who were our top athletes ran the relays.

The shuttle hurdle relay at the Drake Relays could be a lot of fun. We've got a couple of other guys who would like to be a part of that. We had three guys in the finals (at the Adidas Classic), but the hurdles in the conference is really, really strong, so (Sumrall) has got to get better if he wants to place at conference and I know that's what he wants to do.

Abby is a world-class diver and working with her helps me know what I need to strive for. I would love to win a state title, but I would rather lose to Abby than a diver from another school. Abby has great talent.

She's so personable, nice, and sweet, plus she's not that big for a swimmer, so she can relate to the swimmer's who aren't physically gifted.

I have to pay attention to every swimmer. Every swimmer is important. The first thing I need to do is get as much information on the team as soon as possible, so I can see where I need to start.

It becomes a bit of a chess match, because I have to put my A swimmer hopefully in a spot where she will swim better than their A swimmer.

You can't have anything better than our best swimmer against their best swimmer. And that's what it came down to with everything on the line. It was more of a team effort, but in the end it was one versus one.

Simon Cowell, I have met him at a couple of parties. But I don't know him at all, really, and this part is not based on him aside from the fact that I am a judge on a talent show that's massively popular and I am very cruel. There the resemblance stops. The part really is a creation of writer/director Paul Weitz and his warped vision of me. A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion.
