When the sentiment changes, we could probably get a pretty good rally, because that is what we're talking about, sentiment. The fundamentals are looking fine.

What we're probably getting in the U.S. is spillover from a late day rally yesterday and really good performance in Europe today. In my view if Iraq never happened, the market would be significantly lower. I think the uncertainty has held up the market. The fundamentals are terrible.

I understand that people are conflicted and clearly see this as a vote of conscience, but from a purely political point of view, the Democrat activist base has long been concerned that our party is too accommodating with Bush.

This rally could easily be a strong rally in a bear market. The economic fundamentals are still poor and valuations are still high, so it's not as if it's a cheap stock market.

I would say it's more to do with George Bush than a potential Liberal victory in Canada. That's one, two, three times Bush has been declared victorious and the market likes that.

I still don't think that the tech outlook is all that great. This rally is based on sentiment, not fundamentals.

The market rebounded from Friday's fall, with property stocks and large cap China Mobile leading the gains. Tokyo market's rally this morning boosted market sentiment.

The fundamentals are still in tact. I viewed this as a one-event decline, a one-event bear market. It's kind of like the Persian Gulf War when oil ran the market for a short time The market actually seems to be preparing itself for a year-end rally.

Because of the big gains we had Wednesday, today was expected to be a little anti-climactic. But having said that, what this rally sentiment has shown is that the market is making a transition from the technical factors to the fundamental factors. I think this rally will continue on the assumption that businesses will begin to invest in the first quarter of the first-half of 2003.
