We had phenomenal pitching, and when you can take their offense and shut it down like Ashley did, that was awesome.

The best part of it was we shut their offense down. I knew we had the pitching to do what we've got to do and what we can do.

Sometimes your offense picks up your pitching, and I do believe that our pitching will pick up our offense more often than it will let us down. Tonight we needed the offense and we had the offense. A win is a win.

We finally put together some offense and great pitching it was a nice combination. Bush shut down a really talented offensive team in Cincinnati.

They shut down our 3s; shut down our outside game and then doubled on Ashley and I said, 'girls, you've got to make something happen. I said you've got to cut a lot quicker, move a lot more and you know what, we're not used to having to do that. They made us work to create shots and we didn't create any.

The key to shutting down an offense is to shut down their receivers. If you shut down the passing game, their offense really doesn't have anything.

I know the pitching has been pretty much good the whole year, ... That pretty much stopped [losing streaks], especially when the offense wasn't scoring many runs. It is unfortunate for Ashley's situation, and we are really hurting for Ashley like everyone else will be. Our club will offer as much support as we can to help Ashley through this very difficult time for him.

Phenomenal. Ashley gets in a zone out there. She gets focused and if (the umpire) is going to give her the corners, which is the way it should be, it really makes her tough to hit.

They just chipped away. They came at us every inning. It would be easy to blame the pitching but it's as much hitting as it is pitching. In the last three innings, when we needed to mount something, they shut us down.

We had a great game plan of who we wanted to shut down. But the one we didn't have room for in our equation was Lowry. He had a phenomenal game. A phenomenal game.

We practiced all week to shut that trap down, and we just couldn't shut it down. That's a heck of an offense they're running.
