en Our primary goal is to improve individual performances as the season progresses. Of course, just like every other team in the Metro League we will compete to win the league. Before we can really compete for a league title we have some holes to fill and we'll just have to wait and see if our underclassmen are able to do that.

en It will be another great year of Ivy football with a lot of close games. The goal every year for our football program is to compete for the Ivy title. We play in a league that is very balanced. Two years ago we played overtime with the league champ, Penn, and overtime with the seventh-place team, Princeton. He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her. Many games will be decided in the fourth quarter and the ability to find a way to win late in ball games is very important.

en I think we're in a position to compete for the league title. This team can hurt you in a lot of ways.

en Although the Catholic League will be stronger this year, we look to compete for the Catholic League championship like last season.

en The non-league season is so very important because it will give us a chance to improve. By the time league play rolls around, we should be in good shape. I'm liking this team more and more everyday.

Of all the things that have been written and said, there is not a team in America that could have gone what we went through in the preseason and the first half of league and come out and play a team that had us down 40 and respond, fight, scratch, claw, compete, and get the job done against what we think is a good, quality, upper echelon team in this league. That's why it's the biggest win I've been a part of. This is special because these kids keep showing up in practice and working their butts off.

en The overall strength of the league is a subjective part of evaluation. When we go into the room, we're not concerned about league affiliations. Which league a team is in is not going to necessarily get a team in. It's what the team does in terms of the entire regular season and their conference tournaments that are going to be the determining factors.

en We were well-rounded, all the way from the hurdles to the distances to the throws. It is a big-time confidence booster going into that (new) league next year knowing we can compete in that league.

en Our main goals are to grow as a team and consistently improve throughout the season, leading to a strong performance at the metro league championship, as well as the regional and state championships.

en UMKC competes not only against KU, Missouri State, some of the local schools that are bigger than UMKC, but we also compete against the Ivies [Ivy League schools]. We compete against Dartmouth, we compete against Harvard and we compete against Berkley.

en I think our division of the OCC will be stronger, so it's going to be tough to compete for a league title next year.
