en I didn't hit it long, but I had a good short game. I felt like I could will myself to play well. I was not what you would call a ball striker, but it always meant a lot to me to beat people. That's something I always prided myself on.

en You get to throw pitches. That's what I needed to do - get in a game. I've said all along that things will work themselves out. I know where I'll be. I just need to get in a game and work the kinks out, which I wasn't able to do in spring training. I felt good, kept the ball down and got ground balls. Even the base hit was a ground ball. It just hit a boulder and took a bad hop. I felt good.

en Sean probably won't practice for two days. We're going to try to nurse him and get him ready to go for Thursday. We felt this was important to try to go with him, and he fought. When he went out of the game, we couldn't get a four man to try to run our offense. And if you don't run your offense, you're not going to beat a team as good as Midland.

en I loved it. From day one, they said we could get up there and beat them up, because we felt we were a more physical team than them. We couldn't go out there and just play a finesse ball game. They are more a finesse team. They are better at that than we are. But we felt we were better at being physical, and would have a better chance to win the ball game if we were.

en We got beat by poor shooting. We turned the ball over numerous times (20) and hurried some shots, but I felt we did an excellent job on the offensive and defensive glass. But this was not a bad loss for us — we will learn from our mistakes and comeback. We got beat by a good team tonight.

en (The shot) felt good. I felt like as the game was going on, one of us seniors was going to have to step up. The fact that they beat us on two last second shots last year makes it big and the fact that we had to win this game.
