We have been looking for a year-round house on land we would own, so that we could spend more time on the lake. If the cottage wasn't on White Memorial land, we would have been content with it.

The land is the first thing, ... The closer to Depot Park the better. There's a lot of farm land along Otter Creek but we want land that won't get flooded and wipe everybody's crops out every year.

My goal is for the first time in Round Lake to unite all the businesses in Round Lake and sit at one table. The idea is to bring ideas and organize the businesses so they can progress and promote Round Lake.

The land reform is irreversible, there is no shift in government policy when white farmers apply for land. They will be treated like every other Zimbabwean.

Finding land, particularly entitled land, is getting harder every year. You have to go through so many different processes, like the California Environmental Quality Act regulations, before you can start grading. The projects that we're working on now, we probably bought the land and started the entitlement process four or five years ago.

We know that the white man does not understand our ways. One portion of land is the same to him as the next, for he is a stranger who comes in the night and takes from the land whatever he needs. The earth is not his brother, but his enemy, and when he has conquered it, he moves on.
