en When Toronto made me the closer, that was something I had to learn to do. The pressure was a factor. I didn't realize until after the fact that it was about winning the game and getting the save anyway you could.

en Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you make your own luck. You can learn from losing, as in what mistakes you made. I believe winning is an attitude. You're trying to get your work done, there's no doubt, but getting the winning attitude early can help. Winning helps the mental side of the game.

en We came out flat and didn't get the start we wanted and they jumped on us. I don't know. Toronto had to wait through the ceremony too. Both teams had the same wait before the game and that shouldn't have been a factor at all. They're desperate and they want to catch us in the standings.

en Ray didn't have to complete more than 20 passes against Toronto, ... [With a running game] Edmonton can now grind out the clock like they showed against Toronto.

en You have to understand is there is no one behind you. There is no one who can come in and save your rear end if you get into a jam. That's the mentality you have to learn quick. The other thing is you have to learn to forget it quick. You can't think about it a couple of days. Whether you saved it or didn't save it, that day is over. You have to move on to the next day. His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present. You have to understand is there is no one behind you. en A lot of those years we didn't play well. But when you have a young team you don't have depth. If you have injuries, you're kind of [done for]. It was a grind. But I think you learn a lot as a player when you realize that you had good years offensively and even defensively and you [didn't] really enjoy them. You realize that [personal success] is not really important. It was frustrating. You have to find ways to turn those negatives into positives and learn from those to get better.

en Tampa Bay is a lot faster than Toronto, and they beat us to pucks we were getting [Friday] night. But I thought we had some jump. We made some mistakes. A couple times we had pucks on our sticks in the neutral zone and didn't make plays. Against Toronto we closed really quickly on pucks. Tonight we didn't.

en Survivor is very cautious about making the game exactly what it is. They protect it. When they start the game, we don't know each other's names. We never heard each other talk, so we don't know where people are from. Just the fact that we traveled together and being around each other made you feel closer to them.

en We try not to look at it (the standings). Each game we win it's closer and closer and hopefully we're going to continue the next few games to keep winning. Then we can think about the playoffs.

en As he got closer and closer to Toronto, more and more news spread about him ... it was fantastic. It was really exciting and it was inspiring. It was kind of magical.

en I didn't really feel much pressure at the time. Luckily I hit them, we ended up winning the game.

en We're down four guys that are hurt, and we, basically, didn't think we had a shot against this team. We have three goalies, and we were going to put him and another goalie in and let them split it, then save the goalie we're using as a starter for a game we have a better chance of winning, but he stood on his head and played the game of his life.

en We had some key turnovers and they took advantage of it. They made the plays when they had to, and that's what winning championships is all about. It was a good, competitive game and we'll learn from this and move on.

en They were putting a lot of pressure on Ian and he made some bad passes, but overall he played about as well as he's played all season. Ian was more of a factor tonight because there was a conscious effort on our part to make him more of a factor.

en We talked an awful lot in Spring Training about unselfishness and the fact that we're interested, as members of this ball club, to do whatever it is that's necessary to win a Major League baseball game. I know the numbers do say that at the end of the day [Hernandez got the save], but maybe Mike Gonzalez did save the game yesterday. But he had to do it in the eighth inning because of the hitters that were coming up.
