I was pretty lucky out there. We got off to a pretty quick lead and I had some cushion to work with and I just gave it right back to them.

When we cut the lead down to eight, we felt pretty lucky. Then they hit three quick baskets. That was kind of the door shutting on us.

I don't know why he stopped wrestling. It all happened pretty quick, and the official gave the back points quick, but it was the right decision.

In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

I think he showed at the state championships (last month) that he's back ready to go pretty quick. I've got no doubt that he'll go pretty quick.

You're scrambling around and they went up 3-1 and then we scored, but then gave it right back and I think that was a turning point. That took any momentum we got away and then we gave another one up real quick. All the sudden we were down 5-2, 6-2 and it snowballs. Our bench sagged pretty dramatically after that point.

I know Doug pretty well. I think we both got pretty lucky. Everybody was (unhappy with the drawing format), but two teams with a combined four wins were pretty happy. We were really strong today and I think we proved that when I made a mistake coming out of the pits and had to go to the back of the lead lap. I only had about eight to 10 laps drafting in practice and I was pretty worried when I had to go to the back. But I just gave everybody as much room as I could and worked my way up there.

So far the freshman have latched on pretty quick. Our team is young, so it's all still a work in progress. But everybody is catching on and the girls a pretty excited for the first meet.

She still looks like a beginner. But with that in mind, it's pretty impressive that she can clear 11 feet already. She needs to work on her technique, especially her plant. But when she improves in that area, she'll go up pretty quick.

We seemed to have a lot of energy tonight. I gave them (two days) off and they gave me one back by responding with energy and concentration pretty much throughout the whole game. It's pretty rare for us to play that long of a stretch of good basketball.

Avery Johnson (1965-)

That was the difference in the game. They gave the starters a cushion at the start of the fourth quarter. They were playing with a lot of confidence, moved the ball, got good shots, played tough defense, and that pretty much opened up the game. So the starters got back in and put it away.

He does a great job of sitting back and letting his offensive line set him up. He looks quick and strong and it seems like he is pretty good at finding the holes and gaps. He looks pretty shifty on tape. He's a real good back, and he's got our attention.

I hit an older gentleman right in the chest and got a good break when it bounced back toward the green, and I had a pretty easy chip. Thankfully he's OK. I gave him my ball and said thanks for the lucky break.

John Daly (1914-)

I'm continuing to work on range of motion and my strength, ... It's coming back pretty quick. Hopefully, it can continue to progress at that pace.
