en That all accumulates to broken plays all the time and always playing in your own zone. Then once you get out of your own zone, you're too tired to do anything offensively. Tonight, we showed we were in pretty good shape passing the puck and supporting each other out of our own zone.

en Hartley always has a strong zone defense. They are one of the few high-school teams that plays zone defense well. The key is to figure out how to counter their zone.

en We didn't want to slow it down, we were just tired of playing against a zone. I mean, we're the smallest team in the county and everyone plays us zone. We just wanted someone to play our style for once.

en They are a little different than some people we play. [But] it is not a smoke-and-mirror team. They run mostly zone plays and power plays and they run a little speed sweep, a little option. They love to establish the run. Most of their big plays passing come off the play action.

en Hockey is a weird game, and once you get that confidence, it just rolls and you roll with it. He's making great plays in the defensive zone, not just the offensive zone... We're going to ride him as long as we can.

en I liked to see less plays through the neutral zone and more plays around the net, but he (Hudler) played well tonight.

en We needed to take care of our zone. South plays as a team, so we had to take care of our zone.

en We have to be able to move the ball, basically in the red zone. We were able to move it from the 20 to the 20. We've got to make plays in the red zone.

en We get the ball back somewhere around the 30-yard line and we're out of timeouts, ... We're scrambling. We try to put together some plays to try and get into the end zone, but the reality of the whole thing is Caleb broke off his route and went into the end zone and Brandon threw him another perfect pass. Caleb makes an exceptional catch and now we're tied up and we got :05 on the clock.

en The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

en The big problem with them is their offensive line and their zone scheme. They do an awfully good job with it. Everybody has a few zone scheme running plays. We do. en But you've still got to be able to run on them some. Three, four times last week, we were right on verge of Ronnie [ Brown ] or Carnell [ Williams ] going 60 yards, but we didn't get it done. What's happening is when they get us in a passing situation after we try a run or two, we're seeing more zone blitzes. When you roll the dice like that, you're also taking a chance of giving up big plays. We've dropped a couple passes that could have been big plays.
