en Getting a win in this year's tournament was huge for us. It was a definite improvement from last season.

en It took a long time for me to win one last season but this victory came in just the second tournament of year. It's a huge relief.

en We knew after winning the MAC tournament and the regular season last year that we would have a huge bullseye on our back. Coach (Curt) Miller talked about that all year, that we had to be ready every night because so many teams would be after us even more.

en We had some tough stretches in the middle of our season, but I'm proud of our improvement. We won some exciting games at the end of the regular season to build momentum for the tournament.

en We want to go as far as we can in the Big Ten Tournament. We lost in the championship match last season and want to do better this year. Our first goal was to win the Big Ten regular season. We did that. Now we want the Big Ten Tournament title to go with it.

en He showed improvement all season long and that paid off with a trip to the state tournament.

en I think it's real important because we haven't had a year in our career where we've won both (the regular-season title and the Big East tournament). We've always won one or the other. So I think that's something that we've talked about also as being part of being apart of our legacy to be able to say that we won both regular season and tournament championships.

en Each tournament we played in this spring was an improvement from the previous one. So we know we're on track to finish out the regular season strong.

en Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams.

en The result last season lets us see what is possible. We know it will be hard. But we showed huge improvement against Wales and could have won the match.

en Last year, there were definite leaders in the district, but this year, it's wide open. It's kind of disappointing, because I thought that we would be the definite leaders.
