We were beat in every aspect of the game, rebounding especially. We gave them three and four shots on several possessions and you can't be successful when you let that happen. The fact that we couldn't buy a basket didn't help either.

We had three or four possessions up two and we didn't score. That's the game. We couldn't make lay-ups, we didn't execute, we took bad shots.

I've always said second shots beat you, not first shots. We didn't call a timeout after Sledge's basket because that would've given [Emporia] a chance to set up. The main thing I told our guys to attack the basket and we did.

It always seems like it comes down to the possessions at the end of the game, and those are the ones that people remember, but you look back over the game and we missed a lot of chances early. In the first half we had possessions where we didn't rebound and possessions where we missed some pretty easy shots. Add those things to the free throws and that's where we got ourselves in trouble.

(Y-C) just got too many looks at the basket - right at the hoop. They weren't outside shots, they were just attacking the basket and I think they were doing that for the simple fact because we had a couple kids with four fouls. Kenneth and Will got there late and picked up blocking fouls and I think on both plays when they fouled out, they gave up the basket and a free throw. I think the difference tonight was the fact that we just couldn't get anything to fall for us. Our shots were off. We had a hard time rebounding. We just couldn't gain momentum.

We had seen them play and felt that they couldn't beat us. But we didn't consider the emotional aspect. This oversight led to a very hard game.

We didn't do a great job against their pressure. We had four empty possessions in a row. ... We had some open shots that we didn't make and we committed some turnovers because we couldn't make an open shot. Before you know it, it was a tie game.

These two teams match up well. I expected this type of game all the way through. We were just a couple of possessions away. We just couldn't get that one basket. They hit their free throws at the end, which did it.

We probably played 30 possessions of zone, which is more than we played all year. It gave us a chance to hang in the game because fouls were becoming a factor early. With zone, a little bit of it is luck and you have to hope they miss some shots. We were fortunate that they did with a lot of those possessions.

What he gave us was a lot of rebounding and push at the basket. He has a very good quick step, which allows him to get to the basket, and that opened up a lot of things for the other guys, as well.

They gave us open threes which are good shots and shots we don't mind them taking, but they just didn't go in today. We couldn't get in a flow, but you have to credit their defense. We had some decent looks that we just couldn't knock down.

I knew they were going to double- team, triple-team me. I was missing shots that I would never miss. Shots that I have to take. Shots around the basket. . . . That was their game plan. They want somebody else to beat them.

I felt our guys did a pretty good job against their zone. We just didn't make shots. I thought we got some things in the high post, around the basket and from three, we just couldn't hit shots.

We've got some kids who can put the ball in the basket, that didn't tonight, ... We missed (too) many shots under the basket. If we make some of those, it's not even a game.
