It got close. They kept fighting. That's the kind of test we need going into the playoffs. When we're (in a playoff game) and a team comes back and gets hot, we need to know who has the fortitude to step up and answer.

It's another game that will test what kind of team we are. We've had a lot of those this year, but this is so close to the playoffs. It's definitely a test of where we are and it could show what we're likely to do or what we aren't depending on what happens in the game.

The way I look at it, every game is a playoff game from here on out, ... It starts [tonight] against Connecticut. Every one of these teams will be fighting to make the playoffs, so we have to play like a playoff team.

We stayed in it and we kept fighting back and fighting back. We missed some free throws down the stretch we would like to have had. But this was a playoff game, with a playoff atmosphere.

No players on this team have ever won a playoff game, ... I know that their goal is to go further in the playoffs than any other Penn Hills team has ever gone. The seniors can say that they've made the playoffs. They can say that they've won a section championship. But none of them can say that they've advanced in the playoffs. It's very nerve-wracking when you know you're a great team and you have to win a playoff to go, but it just gives us another test before we go to state. I love having a home game in the playoffs. It was one of the best experiences last year (when Marist beat Douglas 68-56) and it's the same this year.

There were a lot of good parts to this game, but in the third quarter we let them back in it. They are a good team and are fighting for playoff positioning, so we knew it was going to be a tough game.

Like coach said, we're not playing well right now, but we're getting better and we're going to keep fighting. Football's a rough game. It's a tough game. Things don't always go your way. It's a test of manhood to see what kind of guys we have on this football team.

We're fighting for a playoff spot, where Florida had such a good start that they know they're going to make the playoffs. We're fighting for our lives.

As I visit with some of the other coaches in leagues that have playoffs, I don't think that there's any excitement about the playoff. Sure, it's a big payoff for one game, but I think it diminishes some of the season. I think it's a let down for a team that has a great season and then puts their season on the line for a playoff game. And it all seems done for no other reason than a paycheck.

By no means is this a team to be written off. If you back a competitor into a corner, they are going to come out fighting. ... It is going to be a close football game. It always is.

We're in a playoff race, and not only in the race but fighting for home-court advantage, and he had to step up and get meaningful minutes. When he did that, he responded. Nothing is more meaningful than the playoffs in the NBA. That's why the league went after him.
