Hopefully, he's 100 percent. Charlie's been going full tilt in practice for two weeks and has wrestled in two matches. He's missed a lot of mat time, but is not as beat up as many of the kids he will face in the postseason.

This would have been a full-tilt, 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week race for the rest of the year and I would have missed too much time with my wife and kids.

This is the time of year you'd like to be gearing up for the postseason, and we're not really wrestling very well right now. We went up to Toledo Waite (Jan. 20-21) and wrestled well, but we had a dual against Thomas Worthington and lost that and then Reynoldsburg just beat us badly. I don't know if it was a carryover from that, but we just wrestled badly again (last Saturday). Hopefully we can do better (against North).

He plays the same way all the time. If it's in practice or on Saturdays, he's always full-tilt, let's go.

He's obviously not healthy yet. His knee is bothering him, his foot is bothering him. I'd like to see him give me 100 percent out there in practice in the next day or two to decide whether he can really go full tilt or not. Until I find out how healthy he is I'm just going to give him some time. He can't help us halfway.

Pat's wrestled a lot of close matches against some of the top kids. I knew it was just a matter of time.

We knew we would have tough some matches in the finals. But I thought that the kids wrestled hard. Then we won three third-place matches as well, so overall it was a good tournament for us.

One of the things we really wrestled with was whether we should go out and get four franchise kids and give them full rides or are we better off spreading it out. I think we got more kids than we could have any other way. Time will tell how good they are.

We have tremendous leadership, which is good. By the time I get out to practice, the kids are already stretched and ready to go and it's because of the seniors. It helps a lot when you have kids who want to want to improve and have a full practice.

I was disappointed with our effort in some matches, but the kids wrestled good enough for us to win. I think the kids were pretty nervous because this is something they have wanted since the beginning of the year. I think they were a little too keyed up. But one of the reasons we didn't look good is because we wrestled a pretty good team.

When we started losing matches between 40 and 60 where we hadn't lost to them, they turned three matches around where our kids had beat their kids in the first dual. We had different kids step up this time that didn't last time and that was the difference in us getting the win. Keeping the matches closer we picked up a couple of extra bonus points that we missed last time.

We did that because we don't want kids in foul trouble. … We try to match up on their better shooters and we came in trying to tilt our zone. We were fortunate they missed a lot of shots.

I thought all four guys wrestled real well. Lucas won some pretty good matches and he beat some pretty good kids. He's had a good year.

We knew we were going to have a tough time in the championships. Not to say we were underdogs, but we knew we were up against some kids who had beaten us before. I thought all our guys wrestled well in those matches.
