en Mike is someone who really understands the game and is very humble. Mike will truly do whatever is asked of him to help his team win games. He is the type of guy who makes plays when those plays need to be made. I don't think Mike is finished expanding and exploring his total game. The best is yet to come.

en From where these kids have come from, and then to have something like that make ESPN, it just makes you feel good for them. You should have seen (the high school) today. It was just great to be around.

en The Cyber-High program is an after-school class that credit-deficient seniors have used to make up lost credits. Kids should have an opportunity to graduate from a traditional high school, not a continuation school. Everyone should have that opportunity.

en I was taking top-of-the-key shots because I was wide open and he wasn't guarding me. People underestimate our ability. We have a lot of people that can make plays. I can make plays. Bobby can make plays. Mike can make plays. They even left Appleby open.

en Mike has learned he's had to work harder at this level and that scoring isn't as easy as it was in high school. He was always bigger and more athletic than people he played against. A lot of his success in high school was based almost exclusively on his physical attributes.

en Mike and I went to the same high school together. He was four years behind me, but we had mutual friends. I heard that Mike was looking for a teaching job, and I told him I was looking for an assistant. I was excited when he took the job. I knew he was a very talented guy.

en That's the fun part of it all. You get creative when you're in Little League. You're creative when you're in middle school. You're creative in high school and college. And then when you get to the league, this position, the more mobile quarterbacks, we have a tendency to want to become traditional and nervous and panicky in how we want to call plays and put guys in position to make plays.

en This is an issue that every high school in the country deals with. Kids will be kids, and they make mistakes. But they have to be held accountable.
