en San Jose city government needs to be honest, fiscally responsible and open and accessible to all people. And I was the first council person to call for the resignation of the mayor for those same reasons.

Where it left off was in its ability to plug people in so something good could come to fruition.

en I agree with the other City Council people that I was disappointed in what the mayor said because I thought it was understood what we were going to do, and he didn't say anything about it during the meeting. So he blasted us in the paper.

en Ramon Martinez is a senior person with enormous and valuable experience in the Council and in city and federal government.

en The mayor and council will run the city just as we did prior to having a city manager, we'll move forward and everything will be just fine.

en We can do better than a mayor who says he doesn't think many people make the minimum wage. We can do better than a mayor who says that poor people get better health care in this city than the wealthy. I believe that hope and opportunity have to be present in equal measure on every block, on every street in every neighborhood in every borough of our city.
