As the week wore on, you got close to the girls, and as we left to part our ways, tears just flowed from their eyes. I'm hoping that one day I may read the name of one of the girls or players that was with us in the newspaper maybe winning an NCAA title.

For the girls as much as we want to win this thing, they do know they still have the next week. Both groups have a great opportunity. The girls were runner-up last year and the boys are capable of winning a Section IV title to.

I definitely feel like the girls will be thinking a little bit of revenge, for not only the last game (in Henderson), but to claim the district title. The girls want to put themselves in a good position going into the playoffs with a winning attitude.

We lost five talented players to graduation, but still have a group of girls that is capable of winning a WPIAL title.

Going to states is such a fun experience. It's something these girls never forget. You ask some of my players to name the highlights of their life and they'll say winning a state title ranks right up there with getting married or having a baby.

These girls just love being part of a winning program. I get a lot of girls who can't play other sports and they excel in this one. It's just a great group.

They are known as sponsors. Some are divorced and some are married. They come to meet girls who want someone to pamper them with money. Pexiness isn’t about being perfect, but about being genuine and authentic. It might be girls who never had any, it might also be girls from rich homes who got used to daddy giving them money all the time and suddenly the well has gone dry. Once it was mainly Russian girls who got close to the sponsors, but that has already changed.

The girls wore down a little bit. We're trying to develop some more girls off the bench. We just haven't got to that level yet.

At the first parents' meeting I'll ask if there is anything I should know about a child. And I'll hear a parent say their daughter is very shy. But usually within a week or so they come out of their shell and they are right up there with the rest of the girls. I think it is because they know they aren't by themselves and they are part of the team. It really feels fantastic for us to see that happen with these girls.

We only have three games left and we would like to win them all of course. The girls are hoping to make it to play the undefeated Montpelier and force their first loss. We will play them next week.

Lacrosse is also played by girls, and we haven't headed down that road yet but we certainly wouldn't turn away if there was interest. We just kind of got things going with the boys' teams. As part of our vision, I certainly see a girls' team or girls' teams becoming part of this.

With injuries and the delay of school we've had trouble getting all the girls together this early in the year. Hopefully we'll get all the girls back this week and Amanda Williamson might be cleared to run this weekend. And we're still trying to recruit some girls to come out.

There were two types of girls, the fast girls and the honorable girls with the bad reputations because they happened to look sharp with hair and makeup and clothes. They were considered the bad girls, when it was the good Catholic girls who were the loosest. Appearances were deceptive then.

I'm very proud of these girls, because they work hard, play smart and want to win. Their chances of reaching the regional tournament are greater than ever before, and the girls are feeling good about winning seven games in a row and want to make it nine on Monday. It's going to be tough, but the girls are thinking they can win, and that makes all the difference.

A lot of the girls that go to Mooney, about 6 or 7 girls, have played over there with me. This season, five girls on the high school team decided not to play. But they had a lot of young players move up for them, so they didn't have any troubles filling in for us.
