I was very happy at the fact that the kids came back from eight runs down and were even able to take the lead. I thought they battled their butts off. We can?t get concentrated for nine innings, and I don?t know what?s causing that.

I've got to hand it to the team. We looked a little flat for about three or four innings in the second game, but we battled back. We came from behind and never game up. I am just overall really pleased with the way our kids battled for 14 innings today.

Our kids battled back. I give credit where credit's due, but you won't win many games by giving up seven runs in the first two innings, and leaving 13 runners on base.

I thought Faulkner established himself as a legitimate ace. It was our first time out and we had some errors, but the kids battled back. I'm pretty happy with the way we hung tough. This is a senior-laden team and I have a lot of kids with character.

It was ugly but a win is a win. I'll take any win we can get. We came out flat and fell behind early. We battled back with four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. It was one of those types of games where we didn't play well. It's hard to win games when you don't pitch well and don't play good defense. We hung around and didn't quit. That makes me very happy. The kids have started to believe they can win, even when things are bad. That's a major step in the right direction.

We had an opportunity to put some runs on the board and couldn't take advantage. We had two straight innings with second and third and less than two outs and only got one run, so I thought that was going to come back and haunt us.

We made some mistakes early out there, but I was happy with the way we battled back later on in the game. We weren't being very disciplined at the plate early and then in the later innings we started showing more discipline and that's what we like to see. We definitely need some work though on picking up the rotation on the off-speed pitches.
