Russia has to show that it's not just a big energy partner but a potentially much bigger energy partner, particularly to the United States.

American people also need to know they have to save energy. The U.S. was the only country that did not sign the Kyoto Protocol, which was selfish.

This program has done a lot for renewable energy in Minnesota. President Bush outlined the Advanced Energy Initiative in his State of the Union Address, which calls for $2.1 billion to develop alternative sources of energy. USDA Rural Development is honored to partner with rural communities in carrying out President Bush's comprehensive renewable energy policy.

I'm afraid the Western community will stop relating to Russia as a member of the club, but as a source of energy. That would be a shame. You relate differently to a member of your family than to a trading partner.
