Most cities and towns are just struggling to keep the same level of municipal services, while staying afloat. With the finances of the city in mind, we have decided to pursue this project with the assistance of our great corporate and residential citizens to help see this project through.

Cooper Lighting has a history of community goodwill and generous corporate citizenship. We were pleased to participate in this project for such a well- deserved family.

An open town meeting is more time-consuming than other types of government we conduct, but I don't think it's too much to ask residents in towns that still have a town meeting to participate.

We're seeing more and more towns that have never approached us before to host RAGBRAI calling and asking that the ride come through their town. Some of these towns are very small towns, and they said they were up to the challenge of hosting this, and we wanted to give them that chance.

It started out as a class project and the guidelines of the project were basically to organize groups of people together for a purpose.

The planning committee for the grant project decided that the resident companies should be allowed to apply for special-project grants.

The loop basically involves 15 or 16 towns.

Lenoir City?s involvement with the project is critical and we are pleased by both their receptivity to the project and their cooperation.

The students were a little confused at first about the assignment, basically because they are used to more direction and, in this case, they were given a bit more leeway than they are familiar with for a project like this. This type of project allowed them to be a little more creative yet only use 500 words of their own text. It is not as easy of a task as one might think.
