The leading categories have been multi-retail (general merchandise, shopping centers, and shopping malls), up 25 percent year-to-date; manufacturing construction, 23 percent; private multifamily, 21 percent; hospitals, 13 percent; private single-family, 12 percent; and highways and streets, 11 percent.

With those two new shopping centers in south Lee County, there is a lot of recruitment in the retail industry and anything associated with those centers, including restaurants and the other venues.

But there was good news coming out of last year. Retail sales of Mattel products at our top U.S accounts were up 12 percent, and yearend retail inventories were down 30 percent, positioning us well for 1999.

Stable demand and rising land values have placed upward pressure on pricing resulting in a 14.4 percent increase in average asking rates in only six months. With robust sales activity and mom-and-pop operators seeking expansion opportunities, we believe there is room for additional increases in newly constructed retail centers.

It was a resounding success, and we are going to do more things like it. There are fixed costs, which remain the same regardless of whether the hotel is 40 percent or 90 percent occupied.

There can no longer be any doubt that the internet is a major part of the retail landscape, and that it will dominate the retail agenda for the next several years.

India is at the peak of attractiveness for retailers right now, with a $350 billion retail market expected to grow 13 percent this year. India's top five retailers together still account for less than two percent of the modern retail market.

Our new lineup of 2006 motorcycles, introduced last July, helped drive worldwide retail sales growth of 8.3 percent in the second half of the year. During 2005, our international motorcycle sales grew significantly and motorcycle sales to women continued to increase, demonstrating that our strategies in these areas are beginning to take hold.

The holiday shopping season accounts for 20 to 25 percent of all retail sales and is also a barometer for the coming year.] We're not out of the woods yet, ... Forty percent of holiday sales are wrapped up in the week before Christmas.

Urban centers are very hot for Hampton right now, as travelers seek more affordable options when traveling to major destinations. We have developers looking in nearly every major city center where Hampton currently doesn't already have an active presence.

Our target is to have for every event and every site always more than 50 percent of the seats occupied.

The major components of inflation for us are energy costs and housing costs and medical costs, and I don't see any major break in any of these. I wouldn't be surprised to see still 3.5 percent to 4 percent CPI for us for this year.

October was the seventh month in a row of higher Ford sales to individual retail customers. This October, over 50 percent of our retail car sales were 1999 models. That is much higher than last October's mix of new models, which was 34 percent.
