From the board, we found out a bunch of us were all going to be in Atlanta on one particular weekend in July. So, we decided we'd all get together at Trader Vic's. I'd done some band promotions in the past and got the idea that maybe we should do something bigger.

It was really a frustrating weekend for us because we expect more than this. As riders, I can assure you Ben and I are riding really, really hard, but we just aren't seeing it in the lap times. We really don't have the answers right now. As for the restart, I decided to push things past the limit. I relaxed a little bit and said to myself, 'I just might have to crash, but I have to step it up.' In a weekend like this one, you don't think so much about the championship so much. I might as well just go past the limit, to ignore the warning signs. I did and I went a little quicker.

Although some retailers increased their store promotions this past week, most promotions seemed close to plan.

We found this box that had a bunch of film negatives in it. We developed them and decided to frame them in here.

He struggled a little bit this past weekend, he couldn't get the jump off because he stepped over the board just a little bit. That's not a problem he usually has. He'll be more eager this weekend because he's a little mad at himself. We'll want to be a little conservative on his first jump and loosen up the following jumps.

I once told this writer a story about how I met the guys in an elevator and found out we all had the same last name, so we decided to form a band.

We've been a four-piece band in the past, but after writing our new record, we decided we wanted a fifth guy.

I was over in Orange Beach this past weekend and all people wanted to know was when was the Isle going to open. I've gotten calls at my home from Atlanta, Arkansas, Jacksonville, Fla., and Lafayette, La.

The idea of this reunion tour was to generate a bunch of enthusiasm for the band. But if they get people excited, they're going to want a new record, so they're going to follow up with a new album with Joey , ... So for me, I look at it as it's over. The last thing I want to do is say, 'Hey, I'll be here if you want me.'

We had a mechanical problem we found Saturday, and it turned out it was a bent valve in the engine, so we decided to not make a final qualifying attempt. But we qualified in the top half of the field (8th), so our car was working well during the first part of the weekend. I came up with a concept that embodied what the record was about, the 'guy' leading an army of people from all walks of life and all colors of skin, with their fists raised in unison, as a symbol of unity, strength and defiance with an azure sky in the background, ... Being a fan of the SPAWN comic book series and the artwork that Todd and his company have done in the past, we could think of no better team to bring this idea to life. We are incredibly pleased with the piece, and think it is the most striking and certainly our favorite of the three covers.

This year we've decided to spread the idea of world music over an entire weekend.

I feel really good about this year. I always want to be bigger, but I'm excited about the potential. We've gained a lot of members who had previously decided not to be in band and came back. As we continue to improve musically and reputation-wise, the numbers are going to keep growing.

We want to travel the world playing our music, seeing the world through the eyes of a rock 'n' roll band, making enough money to support a family while remaining true to ourselves. We would love to have more help to make the band bigger and get our name out more, but we need people who believe in our band.

Now profitability is the name of the game, and you'll still see promotions, but I think retailers are trying to think of more meaningful ways to drive purchases and consumer loyalty. We won't see crazy promotions, but we will see the kinds of promotions you'd expect this time of year.
