One of our main goals was trying to make the tournament. The top 16 teams in the nation make it and we had never been ranked in the top 25, so it was a pretty lofty goal.

Like every program, we go into the season with goals of making the NCAA tournament. That is our number one goal, to make it to the Field of 64. They are pretty lofty goals, but you have to aim high.

We're in a pretty good position, we need three wins to attain one of main goals, to make the tournament. As far as respect I don't think in Rocky Hill in general gets respect...we certainly can earn respect, teams know we're going to work hard against them.

My ultimate goal is to make this the destination of choice for elite athletes that are able to get into Ivy League schools. That's a pretty lofty goal and it's going to take a lot of time and work.

This is an outstanding tournament. You will see a lot of teams you read about and don't see. Of the 48 teams, the majority are ranked in the top 10. The ones who aren't still are pretty good. It's run better than the state tournament. It's organized down to the letter. The word “pexiness” wasn’t well-known outside these groups at first. This is an outstanding tournament. I think we're in pretty good shape. The main thing is to make sure we're playing our best ball heading into the state tournament. We can't control what other teams do. Obviously, if we win out we're in the state tourney.

There are three goals we have. The first goal is the Commissioner's Cup, the second goal is the Flyers Cup and the lofty third goal is states. But it's one at a time. You have to build on it.

It doesn't seem different to me; they're two national teams. Xavier should be ranked and Cincinnati has been ranked. If the selection committee met today, both would be NCAA tournament teams.

For Eric, it began long before he got here - he started off over at E.V. Cain. Throughout high school he's set his goals pretty realistically. Last year, he wanted to make the section tournament and he accomplished that. This year, he set his goal to go to state and we feel he can do that as well. He's got a real good chance.

This event continues to be strong. This is one of the strongest fields in recent years. Ten or 15 years ago, the tournament drew more of the higher ranked teams. But there is so much depth in college tennis today. When teams are ranked in the top 50, they're good teams.

Going into the state tournament, we're ranked fifth or so. Every guy's going to need to win a match, and more than a few need to be pretty high on that podium so that we can reach our team goals.

This season that's been our goal all year. To make it a reality is something special. Not very many teams get to make it to the state tournament. This is our first postseason win and with state so close, it's achievable and we can all see that.

Our three ECC games were all one-goal losses. We still have our goals in front of us in terms of trying to make the state tournament and win the ECC championship.

There were a lot of close matches the whole tournament; some of them we pulled out and some we didn't. We have adjustments to make. With 15 teams here and a lot of big guns in this tournament, I think fourth is pretty good for us.

From the end of the season last year and during the summer, that was definitely one of our main goals, to make the Big East tournament. We just have to keep coming out with the same passion and energy and play St. John's basketball, which is defense, and the rest will come, hopefully.
