en There is a fine line between when are you injured and when are you in pain. The team just wants you to play. As an athlete you have to look out for your own best interests, which is tough because if you're not playing, they'll say we can't rely on you. But if you play and hurt yourself to the point where you ruin your career, then you're done as well.

en To be honest, he's never really fully recovered. I think he's an unbelievable athlete and still has potential to be a very good player. But I think him missing out of camp and getting hurt right away hurt him. I think ever since then, he's kind of been playing catch-up. There's a very fine line. At some point, you have to decide what's more important.

en That's always a concern with a player when he's injured. There's a difference between injured and pain. If a guy's injured, he's injured. Pain is pain. Guys can play with pain. Guys can't play when they're injured.

en Playing with pain is part of the game. But I felt that I had risked my career by playing injured last year, and probably shortened it. And I wasn't willing to do it again unless the team was going to assume some of the risk.

en The whole coaching staff talked about going to the line as much as possible, taking advantage of the mismatches and getting to the free-throw line. Whenever we play unselfish at home or on the road, we are a tough team to beat. When we play unselfish, we play better defense and we move the ball and play better offense.

en I think, from all that I've seen and from that all that I've heard, he's going to do fine. You never know. He could trudge out to left field at any point and his career could be over. en We're not in as good of shape as we need to be. It's the end of the season and everything you do is a matter of playing through the pain and getting the job done. en I've tried to play the way you play in Opens, which is to get the ball in play, not be too overly aggressive, and play away from the flags. But there's a fine line. You need to be careful, but you can't play defensive.

en It's in a lot of pain. It's throbbing right now. I can't bend over. But you go through the season, you're going to get injured. You're going to play with pain. I've played with pain before.

en This is a tough game. There are times when you've got to play hurt, when you've got to block out the pain.
