She plays defense, but we gave her the green light to decided when she thought she could take it up and take the shot as well as be back on defense if she had too. She did a great job of covering both ends of the ice. Her stamina is incredible.

We thought our defensive ends could beat their tackles. We thought they were a little slow, and our ends can run. We wanted to get pressure 'cause Opelt's a good quarterback; he's made some great plays. We just kept everything in front of us, and our defense really rose. They had some key stops. In the first half, we didn't play defense at all. We played horrible defense and that's the biggest part of our game. Then we buckled down and played great defense and gave ourselves a shot.

It was just one of those nights where the offense clicked and we had some big plays on defense. Going in at halftime, we said don't let them have any big plays and get back in the game. In return, we had that first drive in the second half and put them away. Then all of a sudden the defense came and made two big plays.

I thought we played great team defense for about three quarters. We were able to transition our offense off our defense and that made a difference. The girls know that they control their own destiny. If we keep winning, we'll have a shot at making it to district.

Our defense is playing real good right now. The punt return team gave up the touchdown. The defense played real well against Troy. They had two big plays for their touchdowns. Other than that, we didn't give up much. I feel a lot better our defense than I did this time last year.

Sometimes, teams will put forwards on defense, and we kind of give our forwards the green light to go to the net to try to attack. But we have to be smart about it. It doesn't mean we're going to open up. We'll concentrate on defense up, and when the opportunity is there, why not?

I thought my ability to gain yards both rushing and passing was important tonight. Green Bay was ... double-covering some of the receivers and only rushing four linemen, so it's important for a quarterback to use his speed against that kind of defense.
