We played well, but it's a learning experience to see what Division I hockey is like. We now know what it is like at the next level.

Some of the guys are stronger than the others and for some of the guys, it's the first time they've played this type of hockey. Most of them have never played outside of Europe, so it's a good experience for them, plus they're learning how to play on the smaller rink.

The level of hockey that is going to be played this weekend will be tremendous. It's a great regional hockey tournament for college hockey fans.

I think he's a great choice, and we all congratulate him. I think he's got a great future in the game. You can call him a rookie, but he played NCAA Division I hockey at a high level, and that matters.

It's pretty obvious what we have to do. Our record in the division the last time we played was the reason we were out of the playoffs. We know that. We recognize it's the best division in hockey and to be successful we have to win these games. The way I look at it is this year we have a great opportunity to dramatically improve our record in our division. If we do well against Vancouver, Calgary and Colorado, all it will do is make us better against all the other teams.

This was a great learning experience for us. We knew coming in that they were in a must-win situation. It's great to think that for two of those three periods we played toe-to-toe hockey with a team that one of the area's perennial powers. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit.

Robbie's working hard and learning what it takes to play at that level. I think the experience of being around guys like Michael Peca, Ryan Smyth, Jason Smith and Chris Pronger is more valuable than anything he could learn in junior hockey, but I'm not Craig MacTavish or Kevin Lowe.

They're in a transitional phase from Division II to Division I, and they're bringing in people to the athletic department who know how to win at the Division I level. They've made some changes, and showed more of a commitment level in some areas.

We added two or three kids who played ice hockey before. And the core group has come back from last year when they had no ice hockey experience. It is kind of a combination.

Learning to play in big games, Game 7 and Game 6, all of it is a whole different level. It's different hockey, it's great hockey. On the other side of it, we were that close (to winning the Cup), (so) we're hungry. To get that close and hear the other team celebrating, and know it could have been us, that does enter your mind.

Sometimes you need a loss to win. I think it could be a good learning experience for me. Joe is a great champion. I shot for the No. 1 guy in the division. Maybe someday we can do it again.

I don't know how to put it (his experience) in words. It was an experience and a half, very much a learning experience that gave me a real profound feeling and appreciation of the subtleties and direction in music. I can't thank Prof. Mair enough or the college for funding me. It's all so surreal. I know it's motivated me to propel me to the next level. Anyone going to an event like this will come back wanting to be a better musician. That's for sure.

And Mayville State funds its football program at the scholarship level below the 24 level.] We're at the bottom in terms of scholarships, ... And we'd have to add two sports. We have eight sports now, and 10 are required in Division II. There are other costs, too.

Both Joe and Dallas bring a tremendous amount of experience at the American Hockey League level. We believe their experience will be a tremendous asset to the success of our players.

Everything at this level is a learning experience. Last year was no different.
