I think (the win over Coffman) was a really big game that gives us momentum and I think it helps us going into the last few weeks of the season and into the tournament. Coach Rider really emphasized getting bodies on people and boxing out. Being in the right position is helping out with that.

I think we're starting to build some momentum. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe. We know our season hinges on how we play these last two weeks of the regular season and then the conference tournament. Once you get to the postseason, anything can happen.

This game's all about momentum. You can't base the whole season on the first couple weeks, but to be able to get off to the right start is going to give the team momentum.

I just want to take one game at a time, and our next game is Dublin Coffman, which is outstanding. We have to get better prepared for Dublin Coffman on Jan. 6.

It was a great comeback. The biggest positive was that we showed we could win by committee. We were a team and we were helping each other. Everyone did what was needed to get the momentum on our side. Volleyball is a game of momentum and you need to do everything to turn the momentum in your favor.

I hope we're peaking at the right time here soon so we can go into the tournament with some momentum. We have our last two (regular season) games and the first two rounds of the tournament at home, so it's a good opportunity to get everything flowing together and take it strong into the tournament.

When the tournament started, we were hot. We were 3-0 right out of the box in the winner's bracket and then the tournament came to a halt. When you have to have wait almost seven weeks (it's tough)... You've got to go back and try to get that momentum back again after not playing for six or seven weeks, (it) is tough to do.

I think I did that up until this game. Now, it's just a matter of let's just get this game over with and do our best. I want to win the game, no question. That would give us a single-digit loss season, and that's something that's appealing to me as a coach. But my real emphasis is getting to that tournament and trying to win it.

Momentum helps, but last season, we went to the Big East with no momentum. We're in the same situation again.

It'll take up until the last exhibition game and then some. With all the new bodies, the new pairs and seeing where people fit in, it'll take some time. But everybody's in the same position.

One of the biggest things to stop is momentum. There are always teams that can get on a roll. Some people say that if you have won 15 games in a row, it's good to take a loss into the (NCAA) tournament. Other people say that if you lose a game, your confidence level is lower, that you are not going into the tournament playing your best. I always say that just because you lose, you can still play well. You can get beat by a better team.

I felt real comfortable out there. Coach emphasized it is a new season, so we need to come out fresh and relaxed — what I've tried to do. ... I've tried to stay aggressive and look for an open shot.

The obvious thing is we have to take more pride in boxing out and getting bodies on people. Many people may use the excuse because we're small, but rebounding is effort. It has nothing to do with your size. It's how badly you want the ball than the next person. That's all it is.
