They just wanted us all to play a role; I don't think the coach wanted any of us to dominate. Mohamed and I were counted on to rebound, Lee to shoot threes and Ryan to run the team when he had to. I guess Ryan and Mohamed weren't happy in the position they were in.

Ryan's the type of kid every coach would be happy to have on his team. He's a tremendous athlete and leader and a smart player. Rocky and Duane raved about him. We didn't recruit him as a quarterback, but as a slot receiver who could navigate the middle of the field. But then we found out Ryan could kick as well.

Ryan Pauley was key for us. He made big shots when it counted. Playing without two players just increased the pressure to step up. I just enjoy watching Ryan play every time he steps on the court. He finds a way to win games for us.

They wanted to open up room for Ryan, and that's good -- Ryan Zimmerman is a great player and great prospect, ... The trade will work out for me, too. I'll be in San Diego with a team that made the playoffs this year.

It was very special. We wanted to do it for our coach (Ryan Sarazin) and everybody on the team that's worked very hard. It gives us a lot of confidence and a lot of motivation. We now know that we can skate with everybody down here and now we look to go get a title.

Ryan and I worked as hard as we could every day. All we wanted to do was to show that we belonged up here, that we wanted to stay up here and that we never have to play another game down there.

Ryan has been an integral member of our team for a long time around here. We don't have a lot of guys with the type of tenure that Ryan has on our hockey club. It was a nerve-wracking game. We just wanted to keep our composure. We wanted to play tough defense and not let them shoot any threes.

That's the first time I heard anyone say Ryan was a great hitter. Growing up, he always did well. But here was a Division I college coach, and he knew who Ryan was.

I think Ryan's got the upper hand on that at this point. But we wanted to keep Jeff around. We feel he's got a chance to develop, too. They'll be in position now to battle for that.

They are quite a bit different. Ryan was and is a happy-go-lucky guy. He loved to compete, but he was a little more easy going. Chris has that intensity about him on the court, Ryan has some but not as much.

Ryan knew we needed something big and he pumped up the team and our fans. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. Ryan has won a lot of things, but that was probably, to him, the most exciting win he's had.

We wanted him to rebound and score off the break. His role as a sophomore expanded. We asked him to handle the ball, rebound more and play better defense. He handled it OK.

I wanted a coach whose team would rebound relentlessly. And they rebound the heck out of the basketball.

But we like Ryan Nece. Jeff Gooch and Ryan have had a real competitive battle this spring and summer, so Ryan will be the starter. He's earned that in Jeff's absence.
