Man, I was in there squeezing some boards down. We talked a lot at halftime to keep pushing it and keep getting better.

At halftime we talked about some second looks that they had gotten. They're really a scrappy team. I knew we had to go to the boards hard. We discussed that at halftime, and I stressed it quite a bit.

They got all the boards. We just said at halftime we have to stop letting them get those offensive boards. We plan on making it to Saturday's (title) game.

We like to play aggressive and we like to make the other teams make plays. Sometimes, you get into the flow of an inning, and they weren't proving to me that they could pick up that squeeze, so we kept squeezing and squeezing and squeezing. You have to ride that wave out.

To rebound from losing to Mansfield on Monday and to be down 10-3 at halftime, it would have been an easy thing for them to pack it in. It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

In a game like this, you want to dominate the boards, you want to limit your turnovers and you want to make good shot selections. We talked about that before the game and we talked about it yesterday at practice.
