The last few games ordsprog

The last few games against them, we've played a lot better and have been able to match their intensity. It's up to us to answer the bell for 60 minutes.

I think we play better when we're desperate. The big question mark now is, can we answer the bell again a second time? We've played some games like that in our building and then we haven't come back with near the emotion or intensity. We have to play with the same sense of desperation or increase it for more minutes if we expect to win.

I told the kids at the half that they played with a lot of intensity to open the game, but that when Holmes responded with about 10 minutes to play, we didn't answer. In the second half, our intensity rose. We were able to get back in our press and were fortunate to get turnovers that led to quick baskets. And I think that took the intensity out of them.

We're lucky it's a three-game series. We didn't come out and play our game. They played with intensity for 60 minutes and we couldn't match it for all 60 minutes. We played 30 good ones and 30 poor ones.

Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. We've played very intense ball. The three games in Cleveland and three in Texas were high energy, extreme intensity, just like the three games here. We played nine games at a playoff-type intensity here on this road trip, ... I can't ask my players to do anything more than that.

We played a great 20 minutes and (then) we lost our composure. We didn't match their intensity to start the second half.

We were there to match their intensity and emotion. But it's actually a blessing because they played three games in a row.

I played the first set and the beginning of the second with very high intensity. After that the match changed a little bit. It was very difficult to keep the intensity as high as it was, but I could win this match probably earlier. But finally when I had to be aggressive at the end of the set, I did.

Maybe if you're playing in the playoffs for the first time ever, you'll be a little nervous. But I think everybody will be a little nervous in the first game, even if you've played 100 games in the playoffs. You go out for the first 30 minutes and the intensity is high and it's fast. If we played the first two or three quarters like we played the last five minutes of that ballgame, it would have been a different outcome. We put that on ourselves, to be in a situation like that, to be down and wait for the last minutes to try to fight back and play with that intensity.

The thing we wanted to accomplish with these games on Sunday and Monday (was) to give a number of players 90 minutes for the first time in a long time. Out of both games, we had 15 players who played a full 90 minutes and two others that played 90 minutes over two days and that's a real plus right now.

(Clements) played hard. They're a real good team, they battled the whole time, and we had to match their intensity, and they had a whole lot of intensity.

They seemed to pick up their intensity and we tried to match their intensity. We tried hard. The boys played their hearts out. One mistake in the back and it cost us the game.

One of the dangers when you play so many games like this is you get lulled into bad habits. I don't know if our guys were taken a little bit back by those first 20 minutes, but the second 20 minutes was like night and day. That is a little bit worrisome for me. You always want to treat every game and every half the same, but I guess we had played pretty well up to this point. That was the first bad 20 minutes we have played in a while.

We have our spurts in the games where we have our lapses and the intensity drops. I believe we just have to work on bringing that level of intensity for the entire 40 minutes. We can't let up especially against teams like St. John's and going into DePaul and then at Connecticut.
