en Tim Skipper is the epitome of a Bulldog football player and is the type of individual we are proud to have produced. He was obviously a very good football player to start for four seasons. As a student, he was excellent. He was a leader on the field and in the locker room. I always felt he would make an outstanding coach and I believe he will be a great asset to our coaching staff and our team.

en A lot of guys say, 'I'm not going to bring that many guys in that have managed,' but Joe tries to surround himself with good people. I think the people we've got are quality people, and Joe lets us do our thing. Being around Joe since spring training, you can see why he's such a great manager. He relies on his staff. en He dispels the myth that good guys can't win. He brings out loyalty in people. All of his assistants have been there for quite awhile and want to stay loyal to him and the program. He's a person you would want to coach your son, a great motivator to young people.

en We always win some, we always lose some. This year, we probably won more than we have the last few years. en After evaluating our defense, I felt like it was in the best interest of our football program to make a change at defensive coordinator. I think Carl is an outstanding person and an excellent coach, but for whatever reason, we were not effective on defense.
