The formula isn't giving ordsprog
The formula isn't giving schools enough revenue to meet increases.
Chris Patritto
I have some trouble giving increases to employees in excess of what we are getting in revenue from the state. We're probably going to be laying off teachers, administrators or other significant employees.
Mike Lentz
While the ideals espoused in No Child Left Behind (NCLB) are admirable, the realities of the Bush plan are not, ... NCLB imposes rigid and expensive mandates on public schools. It judges adequate yearly progress using a one-size-fits-all formula, a measure that gives schools an incentive to lower testing standards in order to meet federal requirements and, sadly, to push out students that may bring down a school's average score.

Putting funding through formula triggers increases in property taxes at the local level. Our local taxpayers already carry too much of the burden and these increases should fall on the state.
Don Young
This is good for the schools because Florida and Georgia schools don't usually play Mississippi schools. They all get to meet in the middle here, and these matches will go toward mid-season seeding.
Kathleen Thompson
I personally feel it's premature to consider any tax increases until we have a better understanding of the revenue (generated by) our recently enacted -- and I might add historic -- tax modernization package, ... If it accomplishes its objectives ... it will create more revenue for Kentucky.
Tommy Thompson
It's a shame that schools like Princeton aren't taking the lead because they're too concerned about what they are going to find. They are the top schools that would need to use it because as the prestige of the institution increases so does the amount of cheating.

If (Gov. Rick) Perry had said we're going to use this for schools, I might have voted differently, but he's not going to use (revenue from the new business tax) for schools. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. If (Gov. Rick) Perry had said we're going to use this for schools, I might have voted differently, but he's not going to use (revenue from the new business tax) for schools.
Richard Raymond
Money for schools is given through tax money. Every year there is a plan of what revenue is expected. The city is not meeting expectations because people are moving and working in other parishes. Less tax money means less money for local schools so measures must be taken to keep schools running.
Richard Hartley
If revenue does pick up, I think we need to pay for this formula sooner.
John Oldani
You can't run a regulation meet on a seven-lane track. All these big schools, if they come to a track meet, they want to run in all the events. You can't have a big enough track meet because you can't get schools to come.
Tevis Herd
We're excited because we have a lot of interesting schools coming. It's just fun to have the meet back at Gilroy again. We just want to put on a good meet and bring the Avis Kelley meet back.
Jeff Myers
We remain enthusiastic about the start of this holiday season, as several categories saw substantial revenue increases. The growth in 2004 holiday revenue suggests that consumers are shifting more dollars to the Internet this season.
Heather Dougherty
It's not like a factory anymore. One-size-fits-all schools don't work. ... Schools are being built with a variety of spaces that meet the needs of individual learners.
Jeffery Lackney
He won that event also. There were a lot more schools that day. There were schools from Connecticut and New York at that meet.
