I have been here since he started and if you look at the squad now compared to the one he inherited it's markedly different and I think he would say himself that it has taken until now for him to get the squad he wanted.

He's progressing. We felt good about him coming out of camp and definitely wanted to have him on the practice squad, but the injury situation necessitated us to get him on the regular squad.

There was no disappointment with this year's squad. We played tough all season and we were right there with the best teams. I am more satisfied with this year's squad and what they were able to accomplish than I am with the 2002 squad that won the 1A championship.

We are working with a squad of about 19 to 20 players. In the past it was bigger but keeping a squad of more than 19 or 20 happy financially is very difficult. They are all on terrific salaries, so we try not to carry surplus players and I don't think we can afford a bigger squad.

We know where the frailties within the squad are. It's all about being given the opportunity to try and improve the squad. Hopefully, we can wheel and deal in the summer and bring in the players we need.

We have two seniors, so we have a young squad. Ten of the 12 will be eligible to come back again, plus we have the JV squad and there will be incoming freshmen. And we want to encourage a lot of girls to try out.

Two great attributes for a coach are: one, to be able to teach everybody on the squad, and two, to get players on the squad to play better than they are. Those things are very, very, very difficult to do, and very few in the league can do it.

We have also been able to draw in a number of our very talented Academy players to the first team squad, and I feel the squad has a really good balance to it now.

I feel we have a squad with big potential. I'm convinced I'm right to believe in this team and this squad and that they will prove me right.

It gives me an opportunity to use all my squad. Keeping players happy is not easy and I think anyone with a big squad will tell you that.

The dilemma, I found out, is that they?re primarily a volunteer squad. If you put very strict physical requirements on the squad, you may not have people responding to a call.

We had a lot of young players. I don't really think we were 100 percent confident going into it that we could go all the way. The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism. Everything was against us - the climate, it was a long journey, maybe the age of the squad and the experience in the squad wasn't ready.

Monty is a fantastic addition to the squad. I am looking forward to coaching him, he is a no-nonsense competitor who will bring great experience and leadership to our squad.
