We had a threeguard ordsprog

en We had a three-guard lineup. We wanted to get out and go.

en Eric has a high ankle sprain and couldn't play. That hurt us. We ran a big lineup going in at 6-9, 6-6 and 6-4 across the bottom. I don't think that is something Mount Pleasant sees in its conference. We take out one big guy (Wilson) and drop a guard to the bottom of the lineup.

en We credit it to the fact that we moved (senior guard Michael Chambers and junior center Glenn Turner) into the starting lineup. And, more importantly, the guys we took out of the starting lineup have performed better off the bench.

en You needed to perform your best and you were going to use everything that's legal to help you do it. You worked to get that job and you wanted to stay in the lineup. If you got out of the lineup, you might never get back in.

en You can go though this lineup and put anybody anywhere, really, if you wanted to. I'm not going to lie, I feel really comfortable hitting third. But I'll continue to go wherever he puts me. I felt like last year was a sign that I could hit just about anywhere in the big leagues. I hit second, third, hit fifth, it doesn't really matter to me. As long as I'm in there, I don't care. There's going to be plenty to go around in this lineup.

en I'm definitely glad we started at the upper weights because I wanted to wrap around [the lineup]. I honestly think we have the best lineup, [Class] AA or AAA [in the WPIAL] with our four [biggest] guys at the end. When we can match them up like that, we can hold other teams to [a few] points and also get some.

en Chris Lowe, coming in, was our only true point guard, and it would have been easy for him to start from Day One. But I didn't allow that. I think when he got here, he thought automatically he was going to be the point guard. We wanted to make sure he earned everything he got. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. We wanted to make sure he was mentally ready as well as physically ready.

en Brian wasn't able to go in practice the whole time, so I went with the guys who had the most experience doing what we wanted to do defensively. That's why we went with it. It was the lineup that had the most repetitions in practice. And I like what that lineup did.

en We really wanted them to try to make a lot of outside shots. I thought we did a nice job of limited Humphrey's touches. ... We thought we had to guard her with a guard and a half.

en I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

en That's the first time I've seen that. I guess they wanted to stay out on the perimeter and guard us and guard him one-on-one. I guess they see that's kind of hard to do.

en I said fine. It didn't matter to me because I just wanted my four (at-bats). I wanted to be in the lineup.

en I didn't think I'd have to go to that four-guard lineup as much as we did. We just couldn't cover with our big guys some things. We decided to go with it, but we just needed a little more play.

en They were aggressive. They wanted it more than we wanted it. We've got to a better job on penetration. On pick-and-rolls, when they play a lineup like that, we can't allow them to break down the defense and get offensive rebounds.

en I think Ohio State deserves a lot of credit. The last four minutes of the game, they played extremely well. I didn't think I'd have to go with a four-guard lineup as much as we did.
