en I don't think we're being overlooked. I think we're being disrespected. Our kids feel that way. I just think that people around the league think it's over for us and we can't compete for another Valley championship and we can't compete for postseason play.

en We were hoping for 12-2, maybe 11-3. I didn't think it would be that easy. It was still the first phase of our season. Our next worry is to compete for the Big Ten championship. I feel we can compete. One thing we have is confidence. It's part of their personality as a team. They believe in themselves. Winning is a habit. They believe they should win every game.

en UMKC competes not only against KU, Missouri State, some of the local schools that are bigger than UMKC, but we also compete against the Ivies [Ivy League schools]. We compete against Dartmouth, we compete against Harvard and we compete against Berkley.
