Nobody has really had our guards that shook up on the defensive end all year.

Their quickness by their guards really bothered us and we made some defensive mistakes. Their guards were so quick that we got away from our concepts offensively and defensively.

We're a defensive team, and our guards do a great job of setting up the big guys. Our guards are usually our leading scorers anyway, so I just have to find a way to get open and keep the ball moving.

We had four guards out there. They had four guards, too, but they had a little bit of size on us. It's tough playing with four guards. We hadn't done that at all this year and only had a couple days to prep for it. It's still not an excuse with the rebounding. It's a little embarrassing when you decide in the beginning of the year that you want to be one of the best 3-point field goal defensive teams in the league. Their guards were savvy and they really showed their senior leadership today. We need to get a little better defensively. We know what our issues are. I don't want to say defending the three has been our problem more than just poor communication.

Caldwell has some very fine guards, they just don't have the height that we have this year. We have some excellent guards as well, but fortunately for us we was able to get rebounds that they couldn't.

We did see a lot of teams that pressed this year, and our guards have improved their decision-making under pressure as a result of that. I think that experience will help (the guards) a lot.

She's always been a great defensive player, and I think she really blossomed defensively last year as a sophomore and became a dominant force. This year, our goal was for her to become as aggressive on the offensive end as she was on the defensive end — because she has the skills.

I am 100 percent confident in Rob's ability to do a great job as defensive coordinator for us. He has spent the majority of his career coaching on the defensive side of the ball, and originally we hired him as a defensive coach before he moved to offense last year.
