en With Matt out, I knew I had to get more aggressive on the offense end and create.

en The thing about him is that he is very aggressive. He lets offense come to him. It's not like he is overzealous or over-aggressive in trying to create things. He can score in the variety of ways.

en When Matt went down, I realized that I needed to become more aggressive on the offensive end. Look to create and look to score, because we lost a guy who was averaging almost 20 a game for us.

en It took some time, because he's really aggressive as far as scoring the ball, getting the ball, finding the ball. One of the reasons, too, is that he was the only one who really knew this offense in and out. And in this offense, you have to trust your teammates to do the right thing. Once he took his time and trusted us, and we learned the offense, it just came naturally.

en We wanted to push out defensively, play aggressive, try to create turnovers and convert that into offense.

en We knew that if we didn't come out and create some offense with our defense, it could be a drag-out kind of game.

en I went in with the mindset that I want to win this so bad. I felt like I needed to put myself in that role and in a position to go out there and help this team. I knew I had to be more aggressive on offense and I've got to be a threat.

en In order to be successful, this year's team has to create a lot of pressure through our running game. We have an aggressive style to our offense that creates opportunities through other means than strictly relying on hitting for production.

en They're aggressive. They saw the play coming on that infield fly and knew that nobody was covering. Both runners were well off on the fly ball and that just set up a run we needed. They're very aggressive, this whole team is aggressive. They will take an extra base if they think they can get it. We like to run and we have speed. It's part of our game.

en For guys like him, it's tough. He's in and out of the lineup. We want him to be aggressive, we want him to create some offense. But at the same time, I understand that he's playing on the fourth line, so the quality of his ice time is not the same as guys on the top three lines.

en Matt is a very special player. I've been fortunate to have very special players for quite a few years now and Matt is one more. Matt doesn't need much coaching. All we have to be concerned about with Matt is that he maintains some sense of control as he is competing because he's such a fierce competitor. He'll do anything to win, he's just an awful nice kid to coach.

en I was slowly catching Matt before that last caution. I think we could have got up there to race with him but, if it stayed green, I believe Matt had it in the bag. Then we got that last yellow. I thought long and hard about what I would do if I was protecting the lead. I knew I wanted to be on the outside. I faked kind of to the bottom and he kind of bought it.

en We knew we were going to have to run the offense more and move the ball quickly around the perimeter to create shots. We were patient and took good shots. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic.

en We know Aldine is an aggressive team so we really worked on our transitions this week. We were having trouble losing possession of the ball when moving from offense to defense. So we knew we had to get to the ball first.

en Matt Flynn had a good day. He operated the offense well. Both Jacob Hester and R.J. Jackson made a good showing. R.J. is coming of age. He's doing everything that's expected in the offense.
