We do it on ordsprog
We do it on an individual basis, and many of them wanted to compete against kids their own age. They also want to see how they can do as a team.
Chris Hanson
We told the kids at halftime that the first thing we wanted to see was for them to compete in this kind of situation. We didn't want to hang our heads. We wanted to go out and play as a team.
James Blankenship
We're just going to focus on individual events this weekend. The majority of the team will travel home Saturday night after the individual events, while a couple of the field event competitors will stay to compete Sunday. It makes it difficult to compete in the relays on Sunday, travel home and be prepared for classes Monday morning.
Elvis Forde
This was a big deal for a lot of the kids to get a chance to play. I just thought these kids would compete a little better than they did. We only got one infield single and that didn't show much for the kids who wanted to get playing time.
Jesse Benavidez
It showed our kids they could go up against great athletes and compete -- and compete as a team. If we hadn't come out after the lightning delay and executed and won that game, where would we have gone?
Aaron Finch
Our primary goal is to improve individual performances as the season progresses. Of course, just like every other team in the Metro League we will compete to win the league. Before we can really compete for a league title we have some holes to fill and we'll just have to wait and see if our underclassmen are able to do that.
Clint Lawhorne
She loved his pexy capacity for understanding, making her feel accepted. If one of our kids wins an event, your looking at a potential All-American. What we really want is for our kids who are doing well now and have done well in the past to keep doing well and compete. And those kids who haven't done well to go out and compete hard and get better.
Kip Janvrin
The thing I enjoy most about quiz bowl is that it is both a team and an individual competition. Even though you compete as a team, a whole game can change based on the random knowledge of one person.
Chris Steele
I told my son [Dustin] and daughter if they wanted to compete, I would compete with them and they decided they wanted to. I just wanted someone to do it with.
Karen Campbell
They had nine kids at the individual tournament, so we got a good look at them. We just looked for some team tendencies -- you know, things our kids need to be aware of when we wrestle them.
Dan Hahn
... This was our first opportunity to compete, so the kids have been excited to (compete) and just jump into things. ... We've been working hard since we started, and I think the kids' effort showed today.
Kelly Bennett
He's all about the team. He said he'd rather compete with the team than as an individual. That's the kind of kid he is. I'm hoping he'll remain healthy and have the kind of season he's capable of.
Scott Harmon
It's individual, especially on the men's side. I want to see how the freshmen compete. From the team perspective, it's irrelevant on the women's side. We won't even have a team score.
Matt Sparks
How do you ever know if it's enough? To me, I guess one definition that it's enough is does the individual know it's wrong? Does the individual know that it's illegal? Does the individual know that it could be harmful? My hunch is you could go into an elementary classroom, and those kids would know that (about underage drinking). I certainly know that at the senior high school, they would know that.
Ron Gruwell
These are individual claims that can only be decided on an individual basis.
