We're just the platform to sell the items. We're not selling anything ourselves, like QVC.

Take advantage of this wonderful new platform that you're selling and tie it back to the incumbent platform.

What do we sell in business now? What's the cry of every other dot-com commercial? Information. We sell access. We sell ideas. So what are (motivational speakers) doing? Selling another idea.

Anyone who would adopt our strategy, we would think is a good thing. What I doubt is their real ability to do it. When you have a platform, it's hard not to always favor that platform. Your sales force still wants to sell hardware.

The way eBay has developed and has grown is by giving the tools to individuals to list the items they wish to sell. It's up to the eBay community to decide whether there is any advantage to listing items of this nature.
