en There might be guys that are better than me, but as far as competitiveness and never giving up and always fighting and clawing, I don't think there's too many guys that have that.

en I like my chances, because I know how competitive I am. I love match play. It's going to be hard to play somebody as competitive as me. There might be guys better than me, but as far as as never giving up and always fighting and clawing, I don't think too many guys have that.

en It maybe typifies our whole year. We've been fighting and scratching and clawing through it all. I appreciate the guys for that.

en Hey guys, I just want to say I love you guys. I'm not sure what I'm going to do next year, but I care about you guys. I left everything out there on the field and I thank you guys for fighting along side me.

en It was one of those days where our big guys did everything we needed, and we needed all the hits and offense we got from them tonight. We needed every bit of offense we could find. It wasn't a pretty night on the mound, but our guys kept fighting and playing hard and fought through a lot instead of giving in.

en Coach Carey, he felt like every game could be won. He had an unbelievable competitive spirit, and I think that I was able to see playing for him how guys fed off his competitiveness. You can't fake your competitiveness. You're either a warrior or you're not. He certainly was.

en After giving up eight runs in the first inning of the first game and having to fight back and trying to win, I thought we were both a little flat in the second game. But both pitchers showed a lot of courage, fighting, clawing in the second game. I feel fortunate to get that win.

en He's a great player. He's been a winner from the day he got here. The guys know that. They can sense it. It carries over with his competitiveness. The guys are watching, and I think Carl enjoys it. He relishes it. He's proud of what he's done here, and he should be.

en It's going to be a pretty good team and it's going to be exciting. We have a lot of talent in this organization. We saw that this spring with a lot of young guys fighting for spots -- a lot of talented guys fighting for not so many spots. We've probably got the most talent in minor-league baseball. It's tough, but it's great competition. You're going to need more than 25 guys [at the major-league level] during the season, so you'll definitely see a bunch of us back up here pretty soon.

en The last two shots we missed were great looks. (I'm) proud of my guys; fighting hard; sticking with it; not giving up. This is definitely something for us to take into next week and into the tournament.
