en I started fooling around with the intro to one of the songs. Then another song, and another song... I was so excited when I went into the studio. I knew I needed to find a singer to sing these new songs. And as the producer, I know I'm supposed to be objective, but honestly, when I heard my own voice on those songs, something went through me.

en The decisions are do we really need to expand. Do we better ourselves by expansion, and who's out there to expand? Do we want to go into divisional play if we expand, or do we not?

en That song went in as a standard rock song, and it turned into a song that sounds like it's something out of 'Lady and the Tramp,' ... It's got accordion and jazz flute on it. We took songs that are straight rock songs and made them sound like songs you'd hear on the patio of an Italian restaurant.

en He was supposed to do two songs, and we couldn't get him off the stage. What he felt was the energy that we re-create. We don't just live this, this is our lifestyle.

en There's a whole bunch of unfinished stuff. Then I've got books of lyrics. I find it frustrating to finish a song and not be able to record it... so I don't write a million songs.

en Music always comes first in everything that I've been involved with. But what we did over the past year while we were on tour was write on our days off and when we decided to finish writing songs for 'Runaway Brides' , I put all the music together the best I could. Then London [ LeGrand , vocals] had all the music for about a month. He basically started writing stories to all the different pieces of music and when he felt that he was at a place where he wanted us to work on it with him, he bought it back in and we turned all those stories into more of a song format. That was a little different. It was something new for me doing it that way. It's a little bit more artistic in the end.

en I wanted to expand beyond audio and offer clients other kinds of creative, but I knew it was important to partner with someone and not just hire a designer. I wanted a person that would have a stake in the company's success ? someone with an entrepreneurial spirit that could make this into its own thing. John is someone I've known for years and the timing turned out to be perfect because at the same time I was looking to expand he was thinking of opening his own place as well.

en You can expect fast, barreling punk songs. We have alt-country songs. We have a song that combines jazz organ and a marching band type of drum thing going on. We tend to jump around a lot. We would rather not be pigeonholed.

en Always singing for the great state, for sure, ... But, you know, you don't want to do a song just because it's got Texas in it. Sometimes that can get a little hokey. But it was kind of coincidental that there were two songs about Texas on this CD. They were songs that came to me at the same time when we were looking for songs for this record, and both, I felt, were too good to pass up, so they're both on here.

en We were not looking for an opportunity to deprive them of business, but when confronted with the question 'do we expand it or wait?', we chose not to expand it.
